Русский: Картина "Мария Магдалина в экстазе" Артемизии Джентилески продана на аукционе "Сотбис" 26 июня 2014 года (лот №24) за рекордную сумму в 865 000 € (1 179 832 $) при первоначальной оценочной стоимости в 200 000-300 000 € (272 000-408 000 $).
Эксперты аукциона "Сотбис" дают более раннюю датировку картины (ок. 1611), считая, что она написана художницей вскоре после опустошительного судебного разбирательства в её изнасиловании в 1611 году, когда она ещё была в Риме. Также по их мнению, Артемизия, возможно, даже использовала здесь себя в качестве модели, так как не имела ещё большого доступа к платным натурщицам, в силу своего молодого возраста.
